Not Moving, Can't Make Me

Sometimes, my little pittie princess is too stubborn for her own good. While she enjoys a nice walk in the park as much as the next pup, if I walk too fast or try a new route, I often times get G's spot-on impersonation of Dead Weight, as evidenced in the picture below.

Much like our last Pack Walk, G likes to communicate via the Pavement Splay, letting me know she is finished walking (or is not walking in that particular direction or at that speed), thank you very much. If it wasn't so cute, it would be downright annoying, but at the same time it does make me stop and look around and enjoy all the city has to offer. Somehow, it makes me a little more present, keeping me out of my own head and focused on what's happening in front of me in the moment.

In a way, it's quite the insightful trick she has.

  1. HA! Zoe does the EXACT same thing (always on busy streets).

  2. LMAo My Titan does the same thing too! hehe

  3. Miss M does that too! Sometimes I do feel like a really bad dogowner that overworks my dog...but it's really just about the drama.

    1. Totally! I feel like a bad person and then I realize that it's just her trying to control the route/pace!

  4. When Mushroom lies on her side like that (thankfully not during walks), we call her "Piggy".

  5. Haha G you are a very clever girl! My sisters like to pretend to sniff then dive down into the grass and rub and roll. So then I have to stop and wait for Dad to upright his dog and it's not always an easy maneuver ;) His dog has a knack for doing it when there are people approaching. It's kinda funny watching Dad to convince the Pea to get up and walk :) She does the same thing at home on the carpet. I guess she just like to roll around.

  6. G is a girl after my own heart! Miss Thing knows when she needs a rest :)
