Patriotic Pittie

Today is the tenth anniversary of 9/11 - the day the world changed. To show our support for those who have been affected, G and I decided to roll down to Riverside Drive around 12:30 today to check out the FDNY Memorial parade that was taking place this afternoon.

Little did we know we must have timed it just perfectly as the moment we hit Riverside a motorcycle brigade began to come through. I don't think anyone watching would have suspected, but it took about 35 minutes for all of the motorcycles to pass by - I would safely guess there were no less the a few thousand motorcycles (it was unreal)!

G was a real trooper and watched them rolled by (I guess being half deaf has its advantages), smiling and waving at the motorcyclists as they passed by. Eventually we ending up in the park and as you can see in the background of this first picture, the motorcycles just didn't stop coming.

All in all, it was nice to get outside and show our support, even in a small way, to all of those who heroically gave their lives in the name of helping others and their country. We will never forget.
